massive venting post ahead. you have been warned.
topic: WHY do people buy inspired stuff?
INSPIRED GOODS
WHAT IS IT: inspired stuff have designs that are similar to designer items, hence the word inspired. they differ in quality and price, of course. more affordable especially for people like us who aren't exactly loaded and swimming in wads of cash.
A MISCONCEPTION: no, inspired stuff are not exact replicas to the designer good. they do not have the designer logo.
IMITATION GOODS
WHAT IS IT: an exact replica of the designer item, down to the labels. lousier quality than the branded counterpart, but more affordable.
SO, you may ask, why do people buy inspired items? they are cheaper. we do not crave for the branded item, it's far too expensive. perhaps, when i am older and earn my own keep i may purchase one. but for now, i will settle for the inspired good. and for your information, we do not show off that we own an inspired good, or pretend to be carrying a branded one. and THAT is the difference between inspired and imitation goods.
I'M A LABEL GIRL.
yeah you own items from major labels like zara and topshop. but tell me, what are you BUYING from these shops? the basics? the t-shirts? the low-end products which cost the same as an inspired item of a much better looking higher-end product which costs 100bucks? so, you are proud that you shop at these labels? sorry babe, you are ridiculing yourself.
so what if i own inspired stuff? at least i don't buy some cheap thing from TOPSHOP and use the shopping bag everyday, acting like it costed a million bucks. or use a rotting zara paper bag and strut around like a proud peacock. yeah go on acting like a spoilt princess who's oh-so-rich.
